New HarePoint Analytics for SharePoint with important updates

Meet the new version of HarePoint Analytics for SharePoint - the industry-leading solution for reporting essential information on SharePoint site usage: visitors and their behaviour, content popularity and relevance, document usage, traffic flows and trends, and many other reports provide you all the information needed to understand how your portal really works.

The most important update in this version is a fix for IP database automatic update. By using the latest information, the accuracy of reports that use geolocation data based on user's IP addresses has been significantly improved. HarePoint recommends all current users to update HarePoint Analytics to the latest version.

The comparison feature, presented in one of the previous releases, is now also available for web-part reports. Now it’s possible to compare two data ranges the same way as in the dashboard reports:

In response to a client request, a new security policy introduced, which limits the data collection activation and deactivation option to Farm Admins only. When this policy is not used – both Farm and Site Collection Admins can manage data collection for a site collection. Next, the compatibility with the Modern UI is improved in the presented version. This solves some issues with the performance of Search Reports and data collection on Documents and List Items views in SharePoint 2019.

The installation and update process for SharePoint 2019 and 2016 has been improved, as well as the data collection job performance on big sites.

Also, the following improvements and changes are added:

• Many reports are optimized for a faster generation: Visits, Unused documents, Site summary and others.
• The problem with applying binary filters (for example filter “Active Directory logons only”) has been fixed.
• The problem with Users’ data double-encryption has been fixed. Also, the policy to activate users’ data encryption has been added into the HarePoint Analytics Diagnostic utility.
• Data collection for AD groups has been fixed.
• New policy limits the creation of document library trees up to the current Site subscription (for multi-tenant systems) for automatic data export by subscription.
